EARS meets at Orchestral Hall / Symphony Center
67 E. Adams, Chicago, IL
Tuesday, January 18th 7:30pm
Note: that EARS meets one week early for a special meeting at Symphony
Center on Tuesday January 18 at 7:30pm. Enter at 67 E. Adams adjacent to
Rhapsody Restaurant and sign in at the guard station. We return to
celebrate the second Grammy® nomination for Chris Willis and Bill Maylone
in the category of best engineered classical recording. Along with a tech
tour, Chris (and hopefully Bill) will talk to us about the recording of
"Symphonic Works by Robert Kurka" on the Cedille Label. Parking is
available at the Grant Park Garage on Michigan Avenue. (Not too expensive at
night). If you're taking the el, exit at Monroe/Adams.
Chris will be recording a choir rehearsal from 4:00-7:00 that day and
invites interested EARS members to come and observe. If interested, please
RSVP to ears@ears-chicago.org No need to RSVP for the meeting.
Congrats!:
Also a big congrats to Timothy Powell and Metro Mobile who worked
on three projects that received Grammy® nominations: "Martin Scorsese
Presents: The Blues - A Musical Journey," Best Long Form Video; "The Live
Experience - The Rance Allen Group," Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album;
"Unplugged...The Way Church Used To Be - The New Generation Chorale," Best
Gospel Choir or Chorus Album. This makes 28 Grammy® nominated projects
recorded by Metro Mobile!
Thanks for the dues!:
