I'm excited to announce this Tuesday's meeting at Metro Mobile Recording.

Timothy Powell and Metro Mobile have been 'rolling' since 1985 and are THE ones to call for serious location recording. In fact they're the only professional recording trucks in the entire Great Lakes area.

Ever since joining EARS I've hoped to see a meeting here and, with the recent demise of their "M-40 Urban Assault Audio Vehicle" and consequent building of it's replacement nearly finished, this is a great time to take a look at what they do, how they do it, and how the lessons they've learned over the years contributed to the design of the new truck which will, like it's predecessor, "go where larger trucks can't". Their big truck, the M-48, will also be onsite for us to take a look at.

Timothy Powell has a serious love of our craft, from getting things done right on site to collecting the best of the best mics and knowing how to use them to garner 24 Grammy nominations and 4 Platinum and 4 Gold RIAA-certified albums. He's also been a great and involved supporter of EARS from the beginning, including publishing the Eardrum from 1985 to 1998.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING:
From I-94 North: Take I-94 north to Exit 33 Willow Road west. Drive about 7 lights west (about 3 miles) to Old Willow Road. There’s a big Target shopping center that light. Turn left at Old Willow. The speed limit is 20 MPH and the cops are watching. Be careful! Drive about 1 mile (past the train station and the big bump in the road). Turn left at John’s Court. John’s Court dead-ends in a cul-de-sac. We’re at 2101 John’s Court.

From I-294 North: Take I-294 north to the Palatine/Willow Road exit. At the top of the exit, turn right (east). Drive about 5 lights east (about 4 miles) to Old Willow Road, which is after the big overpass. There’s a big Target shopping center that light. Turn right at Old Willow. The speed limit is 20 MPH and the cops are watching. Be careful! Drive about 1 mile (past the train station and the big bump in the road). Turn left at John’s Court. John’s Court dead-ends in a cul-de-sac. We’re at 2101 John’s Court.
