What We Do

Monthly Meetings and Events

EARS hosts monthly meetings and events that cover a wide range of topics in audio engineering and production. From in-studio microphone and console updates to discussions on emerging technologies in live sound and recording, our events are designed to keep our members informed and engaged.

Workshops and Masterclasses

We organize hands-on workshops and masterclasses led by industry experts. These sessions provide valuable insights into various aspects of audio production, including mixing, mastering, sound design, and more.

Special Interest Groups

Our special interest groups (SIGs) cater to members with specific audio interests, such as spatial audio, multi-channel audio, and immersive sound. These groups provide a platform for deep dives into niche topics and foster specialized skills. (We need to develop this idea more. Also include more things that we are doing.)

Partnerships and Collaborations

We have established strong relationships with leading organizations and companies in the audio industry, such as Shure Microphones, Delmark Records, Columbia College, University of Chicago and SAE. These partnerships allow us to bring high-quality events and resources to our members.

Community Engagement

EARS is committed to supporting the broader audio community in Chicago. We work closely with local schools, colleges, and community organizations to promote audio education and career development.
