WELCOME TO EARS CHICAGO

Martyrs’ has been one of Chicago's finest and longest-standing concert venues since 1994 and features a broad mix of national touring and local acts. Adele, Beck, The Black Keys, Los Lobos, Vince Gill, Wilco, the Pretenders, Pete Townshend, and Death Cab for Cutie are just a few of the acts performed here.

At the helm is owner/operator Ray Quinn, one of Chicago's best, if not most, experienced live engineers (or anywhere). Ray was also the front-of-house mixer at Schuba’s for many years, well known as the birthplace of EARS. A long-time friend and member of EARS, Ray recalls attending a meeting waaayy back in 1988 presented by the godfather of EARS, Malcolm Chisholm.

  • Our evening will include a Q&A with Ray and a demonstration of how he approaches setting up a live show using Martyrs’ state-of-the-art Allen & Heath Avantis digital mixing system.
  •  Sean McLaughlin from Audiobiz, distributor for Allen and Heath, Shure, and other pro audio products, will be there to field questions on the console. Sean is also checking the possibility of showing new products from Allen and Heath, and Shure ahead of official product announcements.
  • Henry Heine BagEnd & Modular Sound Systems has been asked to join us for PA/Loudspeaker subjects and questions.
